Air Quality Workshop

In February of each year, the Air Quality Committee conducts an odor control workshop. Nearly 100 people attend this program, which addresses issues pertaining to operations, maintenance, odor sources and optimization of odor control treatment processes in the state.  Presentations vary but generally deal with biological, physical and chemical removal processes for odor and corrosion abatement as well as emerging techniques in operation and maintenance of those processes.

The 2012 program was hosted by JEA at their historic Main Street Water Plant in downtown Jacksonville. CEU's and PDH's were provided for this event which included presentations from experts from throughout the U.S. in the area of odor control. The morning session of this one day event was comprised of classroom discussions on everything from assessing and evaluating ordor sources, in line liquid treatment options, vapor phase treatment options, specification writing and ordor control system performance testing.

Please watch for information on the 2013 Air Quality Workshop to be held in February of 2013 in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area.  To become involved with this workshop, contact a member of the Air Quality Committee.
