Southeast Chapter
The Southeast Chapter of FWEA serves the metropolitan areas of Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe, and Palm Beach Counties. Our membership is diverse including operators, engineers, and administrators of large to small scale municipalities and private utility companies, as well as representatives from consulting engineering firms and utility equipment sales and service companies.
Our foremost mission is to provide professional and technical educational opportunities to the members of our service area. As a consequence, we are constantly challenged to provide topics for our quarterly meetings that are relevant and educational to our membership. Our service area, including three of the most populous counties in the state, guarantees speakers who can offer presentations and discussions on a wide diversity of topics affecting our industry. Associated with this, Southeast Chapter members have taken leadership roles in serving on statewide FWEA technical committees for the planning and organizing of annual technical seminars. The quarterly chapter dinner meetings and events also provide a forum for professional networking and shared interests. Quarterly Chapter Meetings
The FWEA Southeast Chapter conducts quarterly chapter meetings in March, May, August, and November. These meetings are usually held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at a restaurant in the geographical center of the chapter (usually Deerfield Beach) except for the May meeting which is held as part of the annual golf tournament. The March, August, and November meetings include dinner, a technical presentation, and a networking event prior to dinner.
Annual Golf Tournament
The chapter hosts an annual golf tournament as a fund raising event for charities. Past charities that the chapter has donated the proceeds to are scholarship funds at Florida Atlantic University and the University of Miami. This tournament format is a four person scramble and is an enjoyable afternoon event of networking and fund raising for a good cause.
