Safety & Security Committee

The mission of this committee is to promote safety and professional development for the wastewater industry. This is accomplished by:

• Overseeing the selection process for the WEF Burke Award nominee, and submitting same to the FWEA Board in compliance with the time needed to allow approval and forwarding to the Federation within their timeline.

• Providing monthly safety article to the Florida Water Resource Journal.

• Presenting FWEA Safety Supervisor Seminar.

• Remaining current on issues regarding safe operations of treatment plants and collection systems, and facilitating the dissemination of such information to the membership.

• Establishing a relationship with the WEF Safety Committee which encourages bilateral communication and cooperation.
